The Challenge
The project needed to reconcile a vintage steel shed frame, originally designed for industrial use, to be adapted to support a modern, vapour-open hempcrete envelope. At the same time, the home was designed as a long-term residence, prioritising thermal performance, moisture control, and durability in a cool regional climate.

Our Approach
The Block & Block Respira system was selected to balance performance with build flexibility. The wall assembly is paired with our Respira Drywall vapour-open ceiling system to ensure moisture can move safely through the structure. Materials were ordered early and stored on site, ahead of time.
