We strive to help Australians build their homes with a natural and sustainable building material that will take care of both them and the environment.

You must be unfortunately very familiar with the following scenario:
A new client is eager to start designing their new home. They discuss project requirements and budget, which is a critical aspect. However, economic limitations often compromise sustainability and health goals in the final design.
Now, Sustainable building materials are expensive. Right?
Well, most of them are, or at least they used to be!
But before we get to that, let me introduce something I find very useful:
Have you ever heard of the concept called "Green Premium"?
Green Premium is the additional cost of eliminating emissions when buying almost anything. For instance, let's see how it applies to jet fuel.
The aviation industry contributes 2% of global greenhouse gas emissions, while construction and building conditioning make up 39% of total emissions.
Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) exists and can be made from waste as an alternative to conventional jet fuel. However, it is used on less than 1% of flights.
The question is, why?
The main barrier is the price. In 2021, Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) was 3.6 times more expensive than the conventional alternative. By 2023, it reduced to 2.3 times, according to S&P Platts.
Lower green premiums increase market adoption
To reduce green premiums, existing industries need to embrace sustainable alternatives, despite higher initial costs. Without adoption, there will be no further development or reduction in green premiums. Cost is the primary barrier to widespread sustainable construction.
But we can change that!
Building with natural, high-performance materials used to be expensive, often more expensive than traditional products.
But Hempcrete hempcrete green premiums aren't even premiums…
It will actually cost more money to build with a low-performance, non-sustainable conventional material.
Starting at around $110 per square meter for supply and about $40 per square meter for installation, hempcrete blocks knock it out of the park when stacked up against hebel boards, hebel blocks, or bricks.
At RespiraBuilt, our purpose is to help as many people as possible insulate their homes with hempcrete. It provides excellent thermal comfort and has a positive impact on the environment and our finances.
Let's discuss how hempcrete can be part of your next project and help you reach your goals. Get in touch with us
